NUPS-G UMaT produced a remarkable turnaround in Contest 3 of NBQ2026, overcoming an early setback to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

What began as a promising contest for APOSA UMaT quickly transformed into a commanding performance by NUPS-G UMaT, as the three teams battled through five rounds in a contest filled with twists and turns.

The contest featured APOSA UMaT, NEWBREED UHAS and NUPS-G UMaT, with all three teams looking to secure their place in the next stage of the National Bible Quiz.

APOSA UMaT Take Early Lead

At the end of Round 1, APOSA UMaT appeared to have the early advantage, recording 2 points, while NEWBREED UHAS had 0 and NUPS-G UMaT stood at -1.

The scores even inspired a mathematical moment from the commentary:

“X is a member of all real numbers, where -2 < x < 3.”

But the early advantage would not last.

NUPS-G UMaT Turn the Tables

Round 2 completely changed the complexion of the contest.

NUPS-G UMaT exploded into the lead with 10 points, while APOSA UMaT remained on 0 and NEWBREED UHAS moved to -1.

The tide had clearly turned.

The Test of the Day added another layer to the competition, with NEWBREED UHAS scoring 2 points, while APOSA UMaT and NUPS-G UMaT each recorded 1 point.

NUPS-G UMaT Extend Their Lead

NUPS-G UMaT maintained their momentum in Round 3, moving to 11 points.

APOSA UMaT and NEWBREED UHAS were both on 1 point, leaving NUPS-G UMaT with a significant advantage heading into the later rounds.

By the end of Round 4, NUPS-G UMaT had extended their lead further to 17 points.

APOSA UMaT and NEWBREED UHAS were both on 2 points.

At this stage, the question on everyone’s mind was simple:

Was it over already?

NEWBREED UHAS Find a Late Answer

The final round provided one more dramatic moment.

NEWBREED UHAS successfully answered a riddle on the first clue, earning the full 5 points available for the question.

Their score consequently rose to 7 points.

However, the late surge was not enough to overturn NUPS-G UMaT’s commanding lead.

With 17 points, NUPS-G UMaT secured the victory and progressed to the quarter-finals.

For NUPS-G UMaT, it is another appearance in the quarter-final stage of the National Bible Quiz, as they continue their journey through NBQ2026.
