The second half of the institutional qualifiers is officially here, and all roads lead to the vibrant city of Sunyani. This weekend, the entire National Bible Quiz community is turning its eyes to the UENR Championship as 13 powerhouse churches are set to descend upon the New RCEES Auditorium on Saturday, 6th June, 2026. The mission? A high-stakes scramble for just 4 coveted National slots and 1 ultimate regional crown.
The stakes are astronomically high. With previous campuses like UDS and UCC setting a terrifying 51-point seasonal record, the UENR contestants know that survival will demand absolute mastery, blistering speed, surgical accuracy and and icy composure under the bright lights.
Here is your comprehensive look at how the 4 explosive contests are shaping up:

The Favourites and the Spoilers
The championship fires off with a high-stakes triple-threat encounter featuring NUBS, CASA, and APOSA. This promises to be as much a psychological battle as it is a test of biblical knowledge. Historically, both NUBS and APOSA have built reputations across various campuses for producing impressive scores, while CASA has consistently shown itself to be a dangerous and resilient spoiler capable of upsetting the odds.
Expect a cautious opening rounds as the three fellowships study one another’s patterns and tactical tendencies before fully committing to the speed and precision required in the latter rounds.
APOSA UENR enters the competition carrying unfinished business. In the 2025 UENR Championship, they came agonizingly close to lifting the trophy, only to fall to New Breed UENR in the Grand Finale. Their national credentials are equally impressive, having been the one of two UENR representatives to reach the Quarterfinal stage of the 2025 National Bible Quiz Championship.
With recent pedigree, proven consistency, and experience on the biggest stages, APOSA will understandably be viewed as the early favourites. However, in a three-way contest where a single round can change everything, NUBS and CASA will be eager to prove that reputation alone does not win championships.

Redemption, Breakthrough, and the Unknown
The temperature rises in Contest 2, bringing a fascinating clash of experience, discipline, and ambition as Pax Romana, GHAMSU, and First Love take center stage. In a triple-threat battle this close, the True or False round could become a ruthless filter; whichever team keeps its slate clean of penalties will carry a massive advantage into the closing round.
Pax Romana returns for a second championship appearance with unfinished business. Last year, they came painfully close to lifting the UENR Championship trophy, only to fall short at the final hurdle. Their National Championship campaign ended in equally dramatic fashion as they narrowly missed a place in the Quarterfinals after a tense tiebreaker, with their cheat sheet failing to provide the breakthrough they needed. Those memories will undoubtedly fuel a determined push for redemption.
GHAMSU, meanwhile, is back for a third consecutive championship appearance. Despite their consistency in participating in the competition, they are still searching for a breakthrough campaign after failing to qualify for the National Championship on their previous two attempts. That experience cuts both ways—it highlights past disappointment, but it also means GHAMSU enters with a deep understanding of the championship environment and a strong desire to finally take the next step.
Then there is First Love, the newcomers. With no championship history and no previous results to analyze, they enter as the competition’s mystery package. New teams often play with a freedom that established sides do not enjoy, and that unpredictability could make them dangerous opponents in a contest where every point matters.
This matchup may ultimately come down to composure rather than speed. Pax Romana’s discipline, GHAMSU’s determination, and First Love’s unpredictability create a fascinating balance of strengths that could produce one of the most competitive contests of the championship.

The Four-Way Frenzy
Look closely at the championship lineup and you will spot the ultimate wildcard of the day. Contest 3 is a four-way gauntlet featuring ROSA, NUPS-G, DLCF, and New Breed. Managing the stage with four teams is a strategic nightmare; questions disappear twice as fast, opportunities become scarce, and a split-second hesitation on the buzzer can turn a promising contest into a frustrating chase. In a match this crowded, consistency and timing may prove even more valuable than raw knowledge.
The spotlight naturally falls on New Breed, the defending champions. After failing to qualify in 2024, they returned for their second championship appearance in 2025 and produced a remarkable turnaround, defeating APOSA and UENR in the Grand Finale to claim their maiden UENR Championship title. Having already demonstrated their ability to learn from disappointment and respond under pressure, they enter this contest with the confidence that only champions possess.
DLCF arrives with a history of coming close but not quite finishing the job. They reached the UENR Championship Final in 2024, establishing themselves as one of the strongest fellowships on campus, but endured a disappointing campaign in 2025 that saw them miss qualification altogether. This year’s championship presents an opportunity to remind everyone why they were once finalists and prove that last season was merely a setback rather than a decline.
NUPS-G carries a different motivation. Despite possessing a respected reputation in many Bible quiz circles, they have failed to qualify from each of the last two UENR Championships. For a fellowship with their pedigree, that record will be difficult to ignore. They enter knowing that another early exit would be a major disappointment, while a strong performance could instantly re-establish them as serious contenders.
Completing the field is ROSA, the newcomers. With no championship history to analyse and no established expectations to burden them, they are the great unknown. In a four-team contest where attention is naturally drawn to the more experienced sides, ROSA may find opportunities to strike when their opponents are focused elsewhere.
The unique format makes this perhaps the most unpredictable contest of the opening round. Four teams, limited opportunities, and championship ambitions create the perfect environment for surprises.

The Main Event
The preliminary stage closes with a colossal, star-studded showdown that already has the entire campus talking: PENSA vs AGCM vs GNAAS. In the world of Bible quizzing, a PENSA–AGCM matchup is nothing short of an El Clásico. Add a battle-tested GNAAS side into the mix, and you have the perfect recipe for one of the most anticipated contests of the championship.
History follows all three teams into this encounter.
PENSA enters as one of the most decorated teams in the field. Their 2024 championship run remains one of the most dominant campaigns in UENR history. After staging a remarkable 11-point fourth-round comeback to defeat AGCM in the qualifier, they marched into the Grand Finale and dismantled both GNAAS and DLCF, recording a commanding 39–9–1 victory line to secure the championship crown. Their title defence in 2025 ended earlier than expected when they fell to New Breed in the qualifier, but that defeat came against the team that would eventually lift the trophy. PENSA now returns looking to reclaim its place at the summit.
AGCM’s story is one of persistence and near misses. This is their third championship appearance, and they carry the painful distinction of having twice been eliminated by eventual champions. In 2024, they lost to PENSA, who went on to win the title. In 2025, they suffered the same fate against New Breed, who also became champions. Those exits demonstrate that AGCM has consistently been competing against the very best, and they will be eager to finally break through and write their own championship story.
GNAAS also returns for a third championship campaign with an impressive résumé of its own. The fellowship reached the UENR Grand Finale in 2024 before falling to PENSA and narrowly missed automatic qualification behind APOSA in 2025. Nevertheless, they secured a standby slot and made the most of it at the National Championship. After narrowly missing direct qualification to the Quarterfinals, GNAAS showed tremendous resilience by winning the Lifeline Contest and extending their national campaign. Few teams in the competition can match their combination of experience and perseverance.
This contest has all the ingredients of a classic. PENSA brings championship pedigree. AGCM brings years of frustration and motivation. GNAAS brings proven resilience and a history of punching above expectations. Every round promises intensity, and every point will matter.
If the contest lives up to its billing, a team may indeed need to push beyond the 40-point barrier just to secure safe passage to the grand finale.

What Lies Ahead
The stage is set. The questions are ready. The buzzers await.
From defending champions and former finalists to hungry challengers and fearless newcomers, the 2026 UENR National Bible Quiz Championship promises to deliver everything that makes Bible quizzing special—knowledge, speed, strategy, resilience, and unforgettable moments.
Across four preliminary contests, thirteen churches will battle not only for points but for legacy. Some teams seek redemption after painful defeats. Others are chasing a long-awaited breakthrough. A few are determined to prove that last year’s success was no accident. And for the newcomers, this is an opportunity to announce themselves on the grandest stage.
Yet beyond the competition lies a greater purpose. Every verse memorized, every chapter studied, and every question answered is a testament to the transforming power of God’s Word. The championship is more than a contest of knowledge; it is a celebration of students who have committed themselves to knowing Scripture and making it a part of their daily lives.
As the lights come on and the first question is asked, reputations will be tested, records may fall, and new heroes will emerge. By the end of the day, some dreams will be realized, others delayed, but every participant will have contributed to another chapter in the growing story of #NBQ at UENR.
One championship. Thirteen teams. Countless hours of preparation.
Now, the time for preparation is over.
Let the #NBQ2026 UENR Championship begin.
