PHF Korle Bu produced a sensational finish to win their first-ever contest at the 2026 National Bible Quiz, overcoming DLCF USTED-K in a thrilling final round to finish with 47 points.

Contest Ten of the 1/8th Stage delivered one of the most exciting finishes of the championship so far, as PHF Korle Bu, DLCF USTED-K and CASA UCC battled through five rounds of intense competition.

What began with PHF Korle Bu setting the pace ended with a dramatic comeback, a four-point victory and the highest-scoring individual contest performance of the day.

PHF Korle Bu Make an Early Statement

PHF Korle Bu announced their arrival with an impressive 16 points in Round 1, taking the lead ahead of DLCF USTED-K, who recorded 13 points. CASA UCC finished the round with 6 points.

PHF Korle Bu had pulled something special out of nowhere, and with the Speed Race still to come, the contest was only heating up!

DLCF USTED-K Take Over in the Speed Race

The Speed Race brought a significant change in the standings.

DLCF USTED-K surged to 26 points, overtaking PHF Korle Bu, who moved to 21 points. CASA UCC also made progress, reaching 12 points.

The contest had taken a new direction, and DLCF USTED-K were now in the driver’s seat.

Round 3 saw DLCF USTED-K strengthen their position at the top, moving to 32 points.

PHF Korle Bu remained in pursuit with 25 points, while CASA UCC advanced to 17.

With the True or False round coming up, there was still plenty to play for.

A Two-Point Game!

DLCF USTED-K continued to lead after Round 4, reaching 40 points.

But PHF Korle Bu were not backing down. They surged to 38 points, cutting the deficit to just two points!

CASA UCC stood at 24 points.

With only one round remaining, the contest was set for a thrilling finish.

We were in for a cracking Round 5!

PHF Korle Bu Turn the Tables in a Stunning Finish

Then came the decisive moment.

PHF Korle Bu delivered when it mattered most, answering 3 out of 4 riddles and adding nine points in the final round to finish on an outstanding 47 points.

DLCF USTED-K managed three more points to end on 43, while CASA UCC remained on 24.

After trailing DLCF USTED-K by two points heading into the final round, PHF Korle Bu found the extra gear needed to turn the contest around and secure a memorable four-point victory.

A First Victory and Highest Scorer of the Day!

The win marked PHF Korle Bu’s first-ever victory in an NBQ contest—a remarkable milestone for the team.

Their outstanding 47-point performance would also earn them the Highest Scorer of the Day award, adding another achievement to an already memorable outing.
