PENSA KNUST have secured qualification to the quarter-finals of the 2026 National Bible Quiz after producing a remarkable riddles performance to overcome DLCF UHAS and EPSU Legon in Contest 13 of the One-Eighth Stage.

A Strong Start from the Anointed People

The contest opened with PENSA KNUST looking determined to make an early statement. They raced to 19 points in Round 1, establishing an eight-point advantage over DLCF UHAS, who had 11 points, while EPSU Legon trailed with 8 points.

With such a commanding start, the question was whether their opponents could find a response. For a moment, it looked like PENSA KNUST had come into the contest with a stronggggg anointing!

However, the National Bible Quiz has repeatedly demonstrated that an early lead guarantees nothing, and Contest 13 was about to provide another reminder.

The Saintly Intellectuals Take Control

DLCF UHAS, known as the Saintly Intellectuals, refused to allow PENSA KNUST to dictate the contest. They responded impressively in Round 2, accumulating enough points to overtake their opponents and move into the lead with 21 points. PENSA KNUST followed closely with 20, while EPSU Legon remained on 8.

The momentum had shifted, and DLCF UHAS were beginning to look increasingly comfortable in front.

Round 3 further strengthened their position. DLCF UHAS added six points to move to 27, while PENSA KNUST could manage no addition to their Round 2 tally of 20. EPSU Legon, meanwhile, picked up a single point to reach 9.

After beginning the contest eight points behind PENSA KNUST, DLCF UHAS had turned the tables and established a seven-point lead. The team that had started slowly was now in control, while PENSA KNUST needed to find a way back into contention.

One Round Left, Two Points Apart

The fourth round brought a significant change to the contest’s complexion. PENSA KNUST mounted a response, narrowing the gap and ensuring that DLCF UHAS could not relax.

At the end of Round 4, DLCF UHAS held on to the lead with 28 points, but PENSA KNUST had climbed to 26. The difference was now just two points.

EPSU Legon also enjoyed an improved round, adding seven points to reach 16 and keeping their contest alive mathematically, even as the leading pair battled for the qualification spot.

After four rounds of changing fortunes, the contest had reached its decisive moment. DLCF UHAS had done the hard work of recovering from their slow start and holding the lead, but PENSA KNUST were within striking distance.

Everything would now depend on the final round.

Four Riddles, Four Correct Answers!

When the final round arrived, PENSA KNUST delivered the defining performance of the contest.

The team answered all four riddles correctly, producing the kind of finish that completely changed the outcome. Their score rose from 26 to 38 points, turning a narrow deficit into a ten-point winning margin.

DLCF UHAS finished on 28 points, unable to match PENSA KNUST’s final surge, while EPSU Legon concluded the contest with 16 points.

For PENSA KNUST, the victory was more than a recovery from a difficult middle stretch. It was a demonstration of composure and precision when the stakes were highest. Having surrendered their opening lead and watched DLCF UHAS move ahead, they found their answer in the final round—and made every riddle count.

Their perfect return from the four riddles proved decisive, sealing their place among the teams advancing to the quarter-finals of NBQ2026.

A PEOPLE HAVE BEEN UNLEASHED!

PENSA KNUST have made their statement. The Anointed Intellectuals are through to the quarter-finals, and their riddles performance has given the competition another unforgettable moment.
