The One-Eighth Stage of NBQ2025 delivered its share of drama, but none more memorable than Contest 2, where PENSA LEGON etched their name into the record books. In a contest that ebbed and flowed from start to finish, PENSA held firm against DIHESA TTU and GESAM HTU to secure a historic win that sends them into the quarterfinals for the very first time.

Round 1 – Tight Markings in the Opening Exchanges

The opening round was a cagey affair. Neither team wanted to give too much away, and the scores reflected it. PENSA managed to carve out a narrow early advantage with 10 points, while DIHESA stayed close on 7 points. GESAM, though slower off the mark, still had their foot in the door with 3 points. The contest was finely balanced—tight markings, calculated risks, and no clear runaway leader.

Round 2 – A Back-and-Forth Battle

If Round 1 was a sparring match, Round 2 was a duel of endurance. Both PENSA and DIHESA continued to exchange blows without either pulling decisively clear. PENSA inched to 11 points, DIHESA followed with 8, and GESAM crawled to 4. The margins remained slim, and the atmosphere in the auditorium grew tense. Every point mattered, every mistake was costly.

Round 3 – The Pressure Builds

By the third round, the stakes were clear. DIHESA began pressing harder, showing flashes of resilience that kept PENSA honest. GESAM, though still chasing, sparked pockets of energy that reminded everyone they were not there to make up the numbers. PENSA, however, showed discipline. They stayed focused, answering just enough to maintain their lead. It wasn’t spectacular, but it was steady—and steady often wins the race.

Round 4 – To the Last Lap!

This was where the contest truly caught fire. PENSA stretched to 21 points, but DIHESA kept right on their heels at 18. GESAM had their best spell of the afternoon, jumping to 16 and threatening to flip the script. The crowd could sense it—the tension was electric. With one round left, three teams were still in it, and the path to the quarterfinals hung in the balance.

Round 5 – PENSA Make History

When the bell sounded for the final round, PENSA showed exactly what they were made of. Calm, disciplined, and resilient, they closed the contest on 24 points, doing just enough to fend off DIHESA, who finished close behind with 21. GESAM wrapped up their spirited fight on 16, bowing out with pride.

The scoresheets told the story: PENSA had led from start to finish, never once surrendering their advantage. It wasn’t the biggest margin, nor the flashiest performance, but it was controlled, determined, and historic.
