The road to the #NBQ2025 UPSA Grand Finale was anything but easy. Each of the three finalists—GHAMSU, CASA, and APOSA—earned their spot through grit, brilliance, and standout performances in their earlier contests.
GHAMSU blazed through Contest 2 in sensational fashion. From the very first round, they dominated with speed, precision, and strategy. Led by a standout performance from Afua Yamal, they finished with a staggering 44 points—by far the highest score of the day and a clear warning to any team that would meet them in the final.
CASA secured their place by emerging as the highest-scoring losing team in Contest 1. Despite a narrow loss to APOSA, they demonstrated remarkable consistency and fighting spirit across all rounds, finishing with 17 points. Their ability to adapt under pressure earned them a well-deserved place in the final showdown.
APOSA, on the other hand, booked their ticket to the Grand Finale by triumphing in Contest 1. With a commanding display in the True or False round and nerves of steel during the Speed Race, they held off both CASA and ROSA to finish on top with 19 points.
A Flying Start: GHAMSU Leaves No Room for Doubt
GHAMSU meant business. Right from the first question, they took full control of the round. With sharp reflexes and unwavering focus, they carved out a commanding 12-point lead. CASA and APOSA, caught off guard by the blistering pace, finished the round without a single point. It was, quite literally, a walk in the park for GHAMSU.
From Gilead to Mamre: CASA’s Comeback Spark
The riddle round brought some redemption—and a story worth telling. CASA’s journey from Gilead to Mamre may have started slow, but it ended with a spark. They cracked two of the riddles, earning 6 valuable points and showing they still had fight left in them. APOSA, however, couldn’t find their footing and remained scoreless.
