Two-time defending champions EPSU entered the NBQ2025 UCC Championship with everything on the line. After losing their seeded slot to the Nationals, this contest was their only remaining shot—not just to defend their title, but to reclaim their place on the national stage. However, in a dramatic twist, it was NUBS who rose to the occasion and shattered those hopes.
NUBS Starts with Intent
NUBS wasted no time asserting their dominance. Right from the start, they showed they were not intimidated. They fired on all cylinders, racking up 11 points to take the early lead. EPSU began modestly with 5 points, tying with PENTEFEL. NUPS-G kept close with 6. The champions were still within reach, but the underdogs had clearly come to play. The audience buzzed with surprise—was an upset in the works?
EPSU Strikes Back
EPSU responded in classic champion fashion. With precision and urgency, they surged ahead in Round 2, scoring a massive 12 points to take the lead with 17. Meanwhile, NUPS-G inched forward to 8 points, and PENTEFEL surprisingly dropped to the bottom with 2.
NUBS Regains Control as EPSU Falters

Meanwhile, the tide turned against the defending champions—EPSU lost 2 points, dropping from 17 to 15, a costly stumble at a critical moment. Meanwhile, PENTEFEL and NUPS-G each clawed their way back into contention with 10 points apiece.

With everything on the line, the riddle round delivered drama to the very end. In the all-important final round, the riddles proved decisive. NUBS held their lead by staying composed under pressure. EPSU couldn’t find their rhythm and failed to add to their score. PENTEFEL and NUPS-G each managed 3 more points, tying at 13. Ultimately, NUBS’ earlier advantage held firm, securing them the win and ending EPSU’s title defense in heartbreaking fashion.
