The Maiden edition of the Inter-Church Bible Quiz has entered the Semi Final stage. After many fierce contests, 9 teams have made it to the Semi Final stage of the season.
The first to make it to the semis was Ghana Methodist Students Union – Ghamsu, who contested Fountain Gate Chapel and LifeCity Church
Although Ghamsu led the contest right from round 1, LifeCity staged an ambitious comeback in the fifth round, the Riddles. By the end of the third riddle, they were tied at 44 points.
After surviving the riddle scare, Ghamsu won their contest with 47 points. Lifecity, who lost with 44 points, eventually made their way into the semi finals, being one of 3 losing teams with high scores.
The second contest was probably the hottest in the entire preliminary stage. Christ Apostolic Church, CASA battled it out with Great Commission Church GCCI and Pentecost Students PENSA
Great Commission and CASA took turns to lead respective rounds, but at the end of the 5th round, they were both tied up at 49 points, requiring a Tie-Breaking Question.
CASA won the tie breaker to book the second semi final slot of the season.
The contest was likely too hot for PENSA, who ended with 37 points. But in the end, both Great Commission and PENSA also made their way into the Semi Final, being part of the 3 losing team with high scores.
The next contest was equally exciting. Deeper Life Church, ICGC New Breed and Presbyterian Students NUPSG, battled it out. Deeper Life really showed their strength by suffocating their opponents, winning with 50 points at the end of the contest.
In the fourth preliminary contest, Global Evangelical also qualified with 50 points. They were also the only team to get a perfect score in the Round Three – Test of the Day, in the preliminary stage.
The 5th Preliminary contest was between Great Expectations Ministry, AGCM and Winners Chapel Ghana. It was a very close contest till the last round. AGCM emerged the winners and made their way into the semi-finals.
The final preliminary contest was between Apostolic students APOSA, Campus Christian Family CCF, and Legon Pentecostals Union. It was also close till the 5th round, where CCF won and entered the semi final too.
